Let me start by saying I wish I could give this place 6 stars it’s absolutely amazing. !!! Best coffee I’ve ever had and this is comming from a frequent Starbucks drinker. Customer service is unmatchable. From the moment I ordered to the moment I left it was nothing but pleasant. The women behind the cash register made me feel comfortable and was very welcoming I had a lot of questions and she answered them all with a smile. I will for sure be comming here weekly they even have a cute sit down area if your with friends or want to get work done 10/10 recommend!!!!
Great little coffee shop I get food and coffee all the time from them. Coffee taste great and the breakfast sandwiches are well made.
Edit: 3 years later and the review below still holds. Kathy, Bruce, and Curt, they take care of you and learn your name. It's like Cheers was back in the day, but the food and coffee are probably much better. I love coming here every day for my coffee and a sandwich or salad. And I like all of the people that frequent it, too.
The owners are so nice and the food is consistently good and made quick. Cafe Java is what every small cafe/lunch spot should model after. My only wish is that they open on the weekends.
Nice warm cozy Cafe with a very friendly staff. Food and price was awesome. I had home fries eggs and sausage and enjoyed every bite
what a great little spot. i stopped in during a break from jury duty. was immediately greeted by smiles and good vibes. i let the gal at the counter know i have never been in before and she made the ordering process so easy. my coffee was great and the food just the same. i will definitely make this a need to go spot whenever i’m back in the area, 1000% worth the try!!
What a find! I was welcomed by the staff like I was an old friend, they were so genuinely nice! I had the best green tea ever! Went back for lunch and the chicken panini was to die for!!! Can't wait to go back!!
Loved this place! The woman at the register was the sweetest. The breakfast sandwich I got was amazing. Oat latte was good as well!
This was an absolute find. I’ve lived in downtown New Haven for 3 years and I’m so sad it too me that long to find this great little cafe that blends right into a corporate building. I highly recommend this place for the food, price and service. The staff is extremely welcoming and willing to be flexible with their menu if they have the ingredients to make you something you like. They do breakfast and lunch Mondays thru Fridays. Here’s my food reviews for today on a 1-10 scale: - Sausage, Egg and Cheese on Portuguese roll: 7.9 - Chicken Cutlet Panini: 8.3 (looks simple but really tasty) - Creamy Chicken Gnocchi Soup: 9.3 - My wife enjoyed her coffee: 9.0 Thanks to Cathy, Josh, Curt and Bruce for being neighborly. Kudos to Bruce with the homemade soups. Apparently they have like a 30 soup rotation and do New England clam chowder every Thursday. I’ll be back again and again.
